I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked Along. -Psalm 40:1-2 NLT
I never experienced what a restored life was like. In fact, I am currently walking that journey and I think I will follow it throughout my life. I think you and I know that the path to restoration is something that emerges as we recognize the need in our life and decide to stand firm without deviating or going backwards.
Restored means: to renew or put something back in its original state. We have all been created to live a RESTORED life but on many occasions we live a lie that does not allow us to move forward. That lie distances us from the truth that God spoke about your life and mine even from the moment he formed us in our motherās womb. What we have lived through our lives, whether good or bad experiences, have marked us and without realizing it, we are no longer the original design that God gave us. At one point we are on unstable ground and walking that path becomes more difficult every day and makes us feel insecure and without hope. Surely you have been there before or perhaps that is your reality.
Let me tell you that you are not alone. Throughout our lives we will experience situations that can divert us or take us away from the path towards restoration. In those moments we must set our eyes on our creator. Only He can redirect us towards the truth that comes from God and his word.
Do you want to know the truth of God for your life? I will only mention some truths since the Bible has left us a great list so that we can remember who we are in Him.
ā” You are known and chosen by Him (Jeremiah 1:5)
Before I formed you in your motherās womb, I already knew you. Before you were born, she had already chosen you to be a prophet to the nation.
ā” You are a new person and the past does not define you (2 Corinthians 5:17 )
If someone is united to Christ, there is a new creation. The old has disappeared and everything is renewed.
ā” In Jesus you are complete (Colossians 2:10 )
In Christ you are complete and need nothing else, for he is the head of all rulers and powers.
ā” You are CHOSEN and LOVED by Him (Colossians 3:12 PDT)
God loved you and chose you to be his holy people. Therefore, always live with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
I assure you that if you recognize these truths about your life, you will be choosing the path towards restoration. As you walk, God will provide you with security, healing steadiness and will stabilize your life in Him. And while together we choose to walk the path of restoration, let us enjoy each teaching and invite others to join us through this journey.
