Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
After being abused and hurt I thought my life was going to be miserable. As a teenager, I had no hope. Suicide I thought was my way out. See I grew up going to church, but I lost my faith after what happened to me as a child. In life most darkest moments or sufferings our faith seems non existent. But God, God saw me in one of my darkest moments in life. At the age of 16, I was forced to go to church. My mom always insisted on me going to church. I didn’t want to be there, but my ear was in tune with pastor Jerry Brooks's message about skeletons in our closet that day at Discover Church. Something happened that day, this verse came true in my life; “Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God” Romans 10:17 That day Christ broke my chains and I was set free.
Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." That day I wasn’t fully healed as healing is a process, but God restored my faith. Jesus found me and I? I found hope. My life slowly started to change. From that day on I knew God had my back and that truth, that powerful truth ignited my faith. My faith was restored.
Today, I encourage you to listen to the word of God and embrace your faith being restored. Believe me it’s the best choice you’ll make ever.
