When we decide to say yes to the Lord, it is a decision that is made in Faith even when we do not understand why he asks or requires us to give him things or people that it is difficult for us to let go. By making this decision we are also giving permission to the Lord to interrupt our plans and we give space to his will.
While we were asleep our flesh was in control. Our desires, thoughts, feelings, emotions, words, decisions, actions were guided by our flesh.
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
When we are receptive to the Spirit, we learn God's ways and feel his will. We submit and keep calm, that's when our mind is directed towards something else! The Lord begins to show us what we must change, that something that is limiting our ability to receive spiritual guidance and even healing and help. It is in those moments of intimacy with Him when we can confess our concerns and ask if there is something else in us that we still need to discover, wake up! At the moment it comes clear to our minds, and in essence, the Holy Spirit whispers. The spirit helps us to get to the root of that something hidden deep within us. This is something that still does not allow us to give ourselves completely to the Lord. The Lord begins to show us what we must change, that something that is limiting our ability to receive spiritual guidance and even healing and help.
It is in intimacy with the Lord that we will begin to receive His strength and His guidance, which may lead us to attend our Church more and to study the word more deeply. The Lord will then begin to put people in our life who will be a blessing. He will begin to create for us a community founded on Him, on Christ. All this when we have achieved in intimacy with him the healing of our hearts that begins when we submit to God and adore him. True worship begins when our hearts are right before the Father and the Son. What condition is your heart in today? When our hearts are broken, we begin to feel gratitude to the Lord because it is at that moment that we have a greater understanding of His grace and mercy with us. When we turn to Him, we understand that we cannot do it alone, that our strength is given by Him and that without Him we have no strength, we have nothing! It is in our search for peace, strength, wisdom, etc. that we submit with a broken heart to The Father and The Son, then we receive hope from the Holy Spirit, renewed guidance and a new awakening!
“I lay down and slept, and woke up, because the Lord sustained me” -Psalms 3:5
Heavenly Father, I want to get closer to you every day! I want to set aside more time to be with you and seek from you and your advice before someone or something else. Thank you for the assurance that you will be with me all the days of my life. I praise you because you have planned a prosperous future for me and you have a vision for my life. Teach me to understand the importance of today! Help me to use the time you give me to the best of my ability and to take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way. I want to put my trust in you, only in you and work for you! Today I decided to trust you. Make it possible for me to live as you ask me, to be sanctified and be prepared to talk about you and multiply myself. Help me to put all my fears and doubts on you! Father, I know that wisdom begins with serving you. Please give me the wisdom to be able to discern between good and evil. Amen!
The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakes me morning by morning, wakes my ear to listen like one being instructed. -Isaiah 50:4
