“If they listen and obey God, they will be blessed with prosperity for the rest of their lives. All your years will be pleasant. - Job 36:11
I was born and raised in church. The word obedience was quite familiar to me. However, I had no idea the true meaning of being obedient. During my college years I began to experience many changes that led me to move away from God and consequently to disobedience. I started a relationship that was not part of God's plan. Still I kept going and decided not to listen to God's voice.
At that moment everything in my life began to collapse. I began to experience disappointment, pain, sadness, betrayal, loneliness, discouragement. I thought I could never get out of that moment. The enemy made me think that because of my disobedience God would not remember me and would never forgive me. It was at that moment that God showed me the love of a Father.
He found me in the middle of the desert and gave me water. He showed me that I was chosen, loved and forgiven. At that moment, I really learned the importance of obeying the voice of the Lord and I was able to understand that everything God desires for us is for our good.
Since then I always remember this verse: "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
